"Where Was God? (Their Hearts Burned for Each Other)"

Interesting, captivating, easy reading criminal mystery filled with suspense. It overflows with heart-warming/heart-wrenching passion and romance which revolves around spiritual blindness, physical and mental pain. Author, Sheila L. Jackson began a story of a girl abused at the hands of her own mother and turned it into a psychological thriller. It will keep your attention from the first to the last page. Five stars for a job well done! It is movie material!
In full disclosure, I received this book as a free read in exchange for my honest review.

This is the story of a girl with a tortured past who thinks God has forgotten her, abandoned her, or created her solely for the purpose of tormenting her through the abuse of the people He has put in place to care for her.

I read this book in one day because of the mystery/who-done-it tension that kept me turning the pages.

As a debut novelist, Ms. Jackson did a good job of keeping several sub-plots moving. Some were better developed than others. A couple of times, it appeared to me that the author felt rushed to close a loop; those scenes seemed more sophomoric, but I liked her writing style enough as to stick with her. There were also several well-polished scenes, one of which moved me to tears.

A woman who wonders how to reconcile her sordid past in order to move forward with a victorious life in Christ would enjoy this book. A woman who wonders if there are still any good men out there, likewise, would find her faith restored within these pages.

Now as an investigative reporter she pours her torment and pain into her work to be the best at CBN news. Twenty-eight year old Jasion McCoy stepped into his daddy’s shoes to become a financial adviser. A God-fearing man he can’t understand the nightmare before him as he uncovered the embezzlement and yet he is being investigated. Still searching for his lost love Fayth he met at the age of twelve at her daddy’s funeral and now this he really is needing God’s help.

I found this book just searching amazon and what a book! So powerful and moving the pain and tormented characters lives that are so different and yet deep down both are really looking for the same. I love the well developed chemistry between the two and the sense of déjà-vu that both feel. Add two great characters to a remarkable storyline of intrigue and you have an outstanding story that is full of God’s love and grace.

I absolutely love this book! I have been telling someone about it almost everyday. So inspirational and such great wisdom! I recommend this book for any woman that needs that extra boost to help her get over a tough time and see herself in a whole new way. Through the eyes of her creator GOD.
Format: Paperback

What an excellent read! In life there are many trials and tribulated angst that we go through sometimes without proper protection to aid and abet our transition to triumph. And given the tone and tenor of what we face in times such as this, we may ask ourselves "why, Lord...why me, and how can I get out from under this yoke?" If this appeal to you, then welcome to what can happen to any of us in the real world. Author Shelia L. Jackson has written a seminal book with not only a blue print, but a practical guide to provide as an eye-opener topical issues for healing initiatives. Through The Eyes of God is the name of the book, and the concept is a something that shouldn't be ignored for any self-help approach to deal with depression, peer pressure, familial stress and any other malady that keeps us from redeeming values. I love the book for many reasons, least of which are the things that I've identified that are touched on that speaks directly to me!

There are many informative chapters that speaks about benefits that are apropos to generic homilies for good living, but one of my favorites is the chapters on `Confessions of the Soul' and `Conquering Your Fears'. In both of them, the author is erudite in providing applications and providing analogies to rise above mediocrity and finding the necessary spiritual thrust to make a difference to become whole. Other topics deal with `The Struggles Within', `Exceeding the Expectations of Others', `Damages of the Tongue', and `'Finding the Courage to Stand'. No doubt, this is a well-researched model written in a style where it can easily be applied and followed for tangible results and doesn't have to be read verbatim. There's something for everyone.

Format: Paperback "Through the Eyes of God: I'm Fearfully & Wonderfully Made" is a 170-page compendium of compassionately informed and informative commentary enhanced with real-world examples of dealing with the all-to-common problems of self-deprecation and self-esteem deficiency that are the underlying causative factors that, unchecked, lead to identity crises. This is a problem that spans all economic strata, classes, and both genders. The resolution so nicely articulated by Sheila Jackson is thoroughly 'user friendly' and accessible, making "Through the Eyes of God" ideal for the non-specialist general reader seeking a self-help approach in dealing with their depression, peer pressure, and family stress.

Have you ever wondered why as Christians we sometimes do not act as though we are? The Enemy Within will illustrate how we wrestle with the decisions between good and evil; how we want to do the right thing but feel as though there is someone else—our sinful nature— forcing us to do that which is evil. The Enemy Within exposes the power struggles that we have between the flesh and the spirit man within us. The stakes
are high; you should choose this day which of the two powers will win control over your life. The decision is yours, but the cost is everlasting.

The Enemy Within by the title itself speaks of a condition that is inescapable if dealt with alone. The message strikes at the core of the innate depravity mankind (both male and female). The deeper message convey that the depth of sin's corruption is written into the DNA of our entire being! The author understands that you cannot parlay with the flesh because there is no good thing within it, and no advantages draw from the flesh. Further, the author understands the detriment of mere attempting to parley between the flesh and Spirit in that darkness has no fellowship with Light. NOT JUST A GREAT READ, BUT A GREAT TRUTH!!! TRENTON

Format: Paperback

As a Christian, have you ever felt you were constantly trying to do right, but it was always coming out wrong? Well, THE ENEMY WITHIN addresses and explains, up close and personal, what is really happening with Christians on the internal battlefield. This book details an internal battle raging within all the children of God. Sheila L. Jackson explains what happens to the old person (flesh) and the new person (spirit) once we receive salvation. First, do not be deceived, your flesh doesn't just disappear once you become saved. It is still there operating in a continuous battle against our new spiritual nature. This battle began in the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve listened to Satan and introduced sin to the world. We are now reaping the consequences of their choices from so many thousands of years ago.

Jackson puts the reader in the cat seat for aN enlightening and mind-altering view of what happens to the flesh and the spirit in one's body. She defines it as a constant battle between the two. She uses scripture, her life lessons and a great teaching voice to show all Christians that the battle against Satan doesn't end with confession; you must really work at subduing the flesh daily with study, prayer and a constant renewing of the mind. This book is really nicely organized and easy to follow. If you've been troubled with why you do the things you do, when you know better spiritually, THE ENEMY WITHIN is a very edifying read.

Author Sheila L. Jackson beautifully shared with her readers a powerful deliverance treatise in her revealing and compassionate book, The Enemy Within. She prayerfully described the subtle workings of the flesh prompted by our adversary, the Devil. This book meticulously penetrates the kingdom of Satan's stronghold and gives great hope to those who are struggling with consistently walking a saved and spirit-filled life. Her godly message is very strong and spiritually rich and it is immediately obvious that her wise and gracious teaching is filled with the grace of Christ's love. This book also portrays her beautiful testimony of how God saved her and led her to a Christ-centered life. This book is a must-read for those who want a brighter and more powerful walk with their Lord and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
