2014 3rd Annual Author's Faire

The 3rd Annual Ark-La-Miss-Tex Author Faire promises to be the most inclusive collection of author sat the Faire to date. It is hard to believe that in three years’ time the event has grown from 12 to 35 featured area authors. As one of the major kick-off events for Shreve Memorial Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program, the Faire has been proud to present the varied regional flavor of our Southern Writers. Each author will have copies of his/her books for sale and/or the website from which to purchase e-book versions.

Each year we offer a forum which provides an opportunity for writers and readers alike to more fully understand the writing process. “Not only does this make for better writing but it helps instill an appreciation in the readers for the considerable effort it takes to craft a readable product,” says Debra Kavanaugh, organizer and host for the annual event. “This year, in conjunction with the Summer Reading Program theme of Science, we will be investigating Literary Elements: Ingredients for Success which will focus on the components which make up good writing and storytelling.” Look at the line-up below to find your favorite featured literary element and start your summer with a handful of great reads! Hamilton/South Caddo Branch will offer a display of the authors.
